Melissa A. Scartelli, Esq., was presented with the Pennsylvania State Police Outstanding Citizenship Award in recognition of her courageous actions on September 11, 2005. Ms. Scartelli risked her own safety attempting to rescue four individuals whose boat overturned on Lake Wallenpaupack. The award stated, “Without hesitation, Ms. Scartelli swam out and successfully assisted three of the accident victims to get safely to shore. Her selfless and heroic actions are worthy of our highest recognition – The Pennsylvania State Police Outstanding Citizenship Award.”
